Things you liked about The Stand 2020

Spoilers, do not read if you have not watched the show.

I by far prefer the 1994 version over the 2020 version. However, I figured it would be good to have a positive thread. I did like how they showed Campion at the base, it is more plausible how he got infected. The boot holding the door for Campion to escape was a cool scene.

Idk, they had more run time and better technological capabilities compared to the 94 version and somehow they made something so much worse I really can't think of anything I liked about this compared to the other

Agree with you on the foot holding the door open.

I also liked how they introduced the dynamite via the leaflet in the ski patrol jacket. I can't remember if that was a bit more "oh hey, here's some dynamite" in the original series.

A fair warning, but I'm going to use spoiler covers anyway. Only for things unique to this miniseries; I assume anyone reading this has already read the book and/or seen the 1994 miniseries.

I liked how although this was set in the present, they didn't beat us over the head with it. There were just a few passing references to the Internet in the first episode, and that was it. (Of course, the woke racial diversification was also beating us over the head with how oh, so up to date this version was, but I'm not referring to that here.)

I liked the surprise when we found out Harold was using video surveillance to keep his friends close and his enemies closer. Michael Corleone was looking down from Heaven, smiling at that one.

I thought the revision of Larry and Rita in the NYC tunnel was well done, especially that he was the one freaking out and she had her head together. It didn't alter the story in any significant way, but was a fun new twist.

I thought it was funny when Bobby Terry gave Flagg the bird just before what he thought would be his successful escape.

I liked how Nadine's pregnancy was handled, with her going from conception to fully swollen very quickly (perhaps overnight?), then when she went into labor and it became clear the thing was going to rip its way out of her.

I'll try to think of others.
