Incredibles 2 is a Juggernaut....

I must admit I do not follow Pixar/animated films box office too much.

Pixar/animated films can have extraordinary Legs, and With A "A+" cinemascore and Excellent reviews, Holds are going to be Fantastic....

Finding Dory opened to 135 M and ended up making over 500 M domestically...

Incredibles 2 is opening over 180 M+.....that could result in a total domestic gross between 625 and 700 Million....

Incredibles 2 is going to either be the 2nd or 3rd highest grossing movie of all time domestically ....and probably make between 1.2 to 1.5 Billion WW

this Will be Disney's 3rd film this year to gross over 1.2 Billion dollars and gross over 600 Million domestically...Disney is having A Box office year that truly MAY never be repeated!(queen...lol)

It seems BP will reach 700M. There's still a long way ahead but it seems it will get pushed there just for the bragging rights. Either way Disney is killing it. Solo is a big flop but Disney will end the year as number one again, I don't think JW will top A:IW, it will probably surpass BP no matter how good or bad it is.

I knew from the day you posted this that you will be wrong. I think the first mistake you made was to ignore Jurassic World. Jurassic World is a juggernaut, and while it open bellow Incredibles 2, it took a lot of its audience. While 56% drop is not a bad drop, is not enough for it to go where you wanted it to go. 56% drop from 180 Millions is not the same that 56% drop of 257 Millions (Infinity War). Infinity War with those good drops and a much better opening wasn't able to go to 700 M domestically.

The other thing you failed to grasp is that all top 5 movies in domestic box office are not Summer Movies. Summer movies have a lot more competition. Note that I do not consider Infinity War a summer movie and event though it has two whole weekends without any real competition. The movie is doing great but it has a lot of competition to endure, the same competition Black Panther did not have.

well I knew the day I posted it I could be wrong too....Thats why I specifically put "Might" and "Likely" in the totle....then again Specifically put "I dont follow box office for Pixar/Animated Films"

It was just a thread to discuss TI2's and how much it could make....I knew that 600 Million + domestically was almost guaranteed, but It was at least possible with An "A+ Cinemascore" and Excellent reviews, It could have excellent legs and MAYBE top 700 M Domestically...

you are right about JW2, but believe it or not I didnt make a mistake or forget about it, I knew JW2 very well could cause TI2 to drop more than usual....but I knew based on TI2's overwhelmingly positive WOM, JW2 may not effect it that much, and really it could have gone either way, So its not a mistake to think that could happen , check the main Box office sites, pretty much everyone didnt expect JW2 to have a Huge Impact and for TI2 to hold better than it did....

Look If I made a Thread where I guaranteed a result....If I a were talking about ANYTHING OTHER than an Animated film, then your more than welcome to say YOU WERE WRONG....

I dont think I could make this thread any clear, In the title I said "MIGHT"....in thread I said "I dont follow box office for animated films"....I thought these were clear indicators that I wasnt Guaranteeing anything or definitively Predicting anything....

Look, I am not berating you for failing the prediction, because it is that, only a prediction. What I am saying is that I did not agree with you for the two reasons I expressed and that you failed to include in your original post. The fact that I waited until this weekend drop to say what was wrong with your analysis was because I know your "predictions" and they are quite accurate most of the time. So, I decide to give you the benefit of doubt, to see if your uneducated guessing could be on the right way.

Of course I can make a prediction and put the "Might" and "Likely" to cover if I am wrong, that's what most people do to cover their asses (let's not get into bubbathehut, landofree and ackbar territory here). However, I DO NOT CARE if you are wrong or not, I am just telling where I do believe you went wrong with your predictions and noting that the two things that I expressed have nothing to do with "follow box office for Pixar/Animated Films". You can be wrong with a prediction, I have been wrong with many predictions, but what went wrong with any prediction is what make room for discussion. Yes, you were wrong, no need to get too defensive about it; moreover when you decide to post this in the Black Panther board and not in the Incredible 2 board.

ok well theres clearly some "anger" here....apparently Ive done something to make you mad...

I'd prefer for this convo to go no further, only because you seem to be clearly exaggerating...

I've made HUNDREDS on box office predictions on this site...I literally NEVER tried to "Cover my ass if I'm wrong"...I literally say things like, "I guaranteed" or "100%"...when I make a prediction, Its obvious....

if you cant understand that or are intentionally NOT ACCEPTING the fact that I said upfront "I do not follow box office for animated films" as a indicator that I'm NOT claiming to be a genius here than thats on you....

the facts are I do not mind being wrong, just ask queen, just recently I was disastrously wrong about SOLO, I immediately admitted I was DEAD wrong and even praised him for being RIGHT...

I dont need to and I'm not covering my ass....I simply do not follow box office for animated film well enough to pretend to give an educated Prediction....therefor I said upfront I dont follow Animated films and posted in the title "Might/likely".......these are clear indicators I knew I could be wrong ....

again I'd prefer you not even reply back...this isnt going to go anywhere....your just going to claim I was made a failed prediction and I'm gonna respond by again posting the same thing....do we really need to continue doing this?
