Shouldn't this movie be rated higher than a 6.7?

Okay, the plot seemed a bit contrived but the acting, scenery, and being out in the wild and using survival skills made it worth more than that. It being Australian made it better.

Yes, it should be higher, but not by a lot. I would give it a 7.

I thought the plot was pretty original, as it didn't feel like a movie that I had already seen countless times before. Dafoe is great, and Sam Neill plays his part well, too. We also get to see some really nice shots of the Tasmanian wilderness.

My primary complaints are that it's a little slow and, for a movie called The Hunter, I would've liked to have seen more of the story actually revolve around hunting -- the process, the tools, the techniques. The story mostly is about the drama that happens in town.

Overall, though, I liked it.
