why do/did American women....

...use douches? Theyre unheard of here (UK) and pretty much the rest of the world. Was it just a fad or do they have generally gnarly vag's?

reply

I guess it's just a part of the American obsession with hygiene and susceptibility to marketing. Someone convinced them they needed to, so they did. Why do they shave their armpits, circumcise nearly all boys, and medicate with all sorts of pills for every little thing? Not something we generally do in Europe either.

reply

Circumcise nearly all boys?! Where'd you get that?

You're adopted!

reply

Porn?

reply

Not "nearly all boys," but around 60% of American boys are circumcised.

Well, considering it is a French invention, I doubt our woman are the only ones to use them. But, they are to keep clean. Like soap for your hands, or a Bidet.

reply

In French "douche" just means a regular old shower. But yeah I'm sure it was invented for Parisian whores or somesuch.

reply

i was gonna ask about the circumcision thing too. When you see american movies (bad moms for example)they talk about uncircumcised pen is's like theyre weird and no one has them. but pretty much the rest of the world leaves them as they are.

reply

It's just jewish pushing their agenda. They run the media an entertainment not surprising if they want to push things like that. Its your job to sift through bs and just go on. Besies my friend who lives in israel said that rabbis are slobs and smell really bad (maybe part of their religion about not bathing idk). So it makes sense that they came up with circumcision because they dont even wash themselves like normal people.. thats why hygiene gets mentioned. When it's not even an issue to anyone but them. Everything else is either bs or subjective.

reply

circumcision is extremely common in america, and has been for quite a long time. has nothing to do with pushing a "jewish agenda" ahah. i was born in 80, and had it, i don't have a single uncirsumcised friend. my dad is almost 70 and was as well. it's just a common medical practice here to prevent infection, which really results more in not cleaning as much. the only time it doesn't get done as standard procedure is when parents request it.

and on the subject of a douche, the vag has it's own ph level and bacteria that is fairly self sustaining. but so is the mouth and you still brush your teeth use mouth wash etc. same thing. just want to be cleaner, shaved all that.

clearly you didn't read my post. i said it was done for infection due to cleanliness, young boys don't have the best washing practices. not for babies. if you don't believe that, find a RN nurse and ask her about young boys having to come into the ER for that exactly issue. i personally know friends who have had to take their kids.

i have never met a jewish person, live in what many would consider a more racist state like KY, with a popoulation that is mostly baptist, and you think they are secretly influenced by jewish? that's insane.

it seems you have a deep hatred for jewish, which is fine, do your own thing. but there are things you clearly don't know about. and you also seem like someone that wants to argue, so feel free but i won't be reading it. just trying to help someone that asked a question.

Circumcision used to be common in all Anglo-Saxon countries: UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. Only in the USA does it still have a stronghold today.

To be fair, there are some attributed medical benefits in favour of circumcision, such as reduced risk of HIV/STIs in adults and UTIs in newborns. So I don't know if I would say that parents are evil and have bad intentions for subjecting their sons to it. But condoms are obviously a much better protection than circumcision. There were USA pr0n stars who got HIV and they were circumcised, so evidently cut guys are not immune to it if they're sexually promiscuous enough. Then there's the argument that it may decrease sexual sensation, but some might say that's not true.

I'm French, saw it with fellow Frenchies, and no one knew what was a douche. I thought that thing was a toilet brush.

I often use the word douchebag though lol

reply

So did I !! It took me half the movie to realize what the thing was!! And then I was like: " ehm ...do they sell these in supermarket in the US??" I mean they sell it in my country too, but in pharmacies!

"Please, if you are trying to convert me, this isn't a good time"

reply

All sources I found claim it's a bad thing, _causing_ infections rather than the opposite. A vagina can (mostly) take care of itself.

it only matters if there exists porn about that

They use a wash cloth instead of showering? The hell are you talking about.

Douches & douching was really more of a big thing in the 80's in America. It was marketed as: "Ever have that not so fresh feeling" that you could use a douche and be clean and smell fresh again. However, it has now been found and explained medically that douching actually is NOT a good thing and alters the pH levels of the vagina. So, gynecologists recommend you do NOT use them, just old fashioned soap and water if you feel funky. lol

One of the leading douche companies, Summer's Eve, does NOT manufacturer them any longer, but makes many other "female freshening" products, such as an exterior cleansing wash that IS pH balanced and approved by gynecologists:

I hope that was somewhat helpful! =)

reply

Don't use soap inside a vagina, you'll fuck it up.

reply

mitchegk, I guess some things are marketed more in certain areas/cultures, but there is still enough of a free will mindset among humans as a whole that they don't have to buy into every little thing either  I personally don't use such feminine hygiene products because I was aware that they're pretty much unnecessary and likely promote more bacteria growth and subsequent odors than they prevent. Soap and water has been pretty effective for me.
