Death and The Mainden (1994) also by Roman Polanski. In my opinion, it's even better. :)

Ingmar Bergman's Persona is really good and gripping and in the same vein.
A Strretcar Named Desire is another classic.

My dinner with Andre is a great conversational, one location type thing and it's the best version of it I have seen.

The fairly recent movie Catfight (2016) has a lot of similarities to his movie. Although I don't think Catfight is quite is good. Carnage is much more effective.

That being said, I have a very high opinion of this movie so it's difficult for any movie to compete.

The Sunset Limited (2011). The movie has only two actors in it and takes place in a NYC apartment. They have conversations about life throughout the night. Somewhat similar to Carnage in that it focuses on people having a conversation in one location, but takes a different route altogether.

Oddly enough it came out the same year as Carnage. And stars Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson

"The Ref" from 1994 with Denis Leary, Kevin Spacey, and Judy Davis. Reminded me a lot of this movie, but I think it's better. Carnage had many moments that felt forced, contrived, and unnatural. The Ref has similar comedic elements, but everything just comes across as more realistic, plausible, and natural. It's my all-time favorite Christmas movie.
