I watched the first couple of seasons of Ancient Aliens and eventually gave up on the show. It seemed like they were reaching farther and farther to try to find evidence of the ancient alien hypothesis and I had had enough.

Well I found out that Season 12 was starting--which is insane! season 12?!--and I figured I'd give it a shot.

The first thing I noticed is that it looks like they've worked on the production a bit. It feels sleeker than the last time I watched it.

But the biggest surprise was that apparently now the show doesn't focus exclusively on the ancient aliens hypothesis but also covers a lot of general UFO topics.

After the first episodes of S12, I feel like I'm actually interested in this show again. I'll be damned.

The subtext that I always find interesting is how most of the discoveries they discuss are already years old, as if the powers that be needed to get their story straight regarding how they were going to dismiss it as irrelevant and/or proving nothing before even the basic information of the discovery itself was released to the public. That factor in and of itself seems to reinforce the AA theory more and more every time it happens.
