Love this film. One flaw for me...
The song choice when it cut to the ending credits. It did not match the tone of the amazing story we just saw.

I've always been more of an instrument over lyrics guy. The lyrics might make sense on paper but to me the sound is off. It felt like a pop tune, something that might appeal to the masses. It should have been something more bleak and grim. Just my opinion. It's a small nitpick. Still love the movie.

I love this movie too and cannot help but re watch it or bits of it here and there whenever I see it is on cable movies.
If you like Cruise in this one you might also like him in Oblivion.
At least you got her to watch it! I've been trying to get my gf to for a while but she's not into movie action as much as I am. She likes sci-fi (Alien, Ex Machina, etc) but not when it has a lot of battles, shooting & gore. I'm not giving up though.

We did it on our own at different times.
And she is not really a TC fan since he kinda gave her the cold shoulder when she was an extra in one of his movies.

I haven't seen Oblivion. I remember being interested but some big plot twist got spoiled and I lost interest. It's on Netflix so maybe I'll give it a try. My gf isn't a big TC fan for other reasons but he has my respect as an entertainer & filmmaker.
