I was tired of him always playing psychos, so it was a nice change to see him play this loveable goof. I hope whoever makes those lists of Top TV Dads of All Time, that Burt Chance is on that list.

He was also in a few episodes of Burn Notice, and changes his appearance to play a murderer in The Last House on the Left (2009).

You should see him in Deadwood as Jack McCall. Almost can't recognize him. He is a total dirtbag. David Milch liked him so much that he brought him back to play another character after McCall met his demise.

And he somewhat reprises that role in Raising Hope, for one line. Then he goes to that ranch Wild Bill runs.
