I refuse to watch. Not in a million years.

I was a customer service rep for six years. Got laid off. Mutual of Omaha decided to move all their customer service not to India, but to a cheaper place right here in America, (Woodward, OK) and since have closed that office.

Outsourcing to cheaper labor is a horrible, disgusting thing. For the workers, AND for the poor saps who call 'em on the phone. Making a joke about it, or trying to put up some kind of so-called "Human" side to the cheap labor is absolutely despicable. I hope this show lasts three episodes before the producers have to sit in their conference room and actually realize that this kind of outsourcing & exploitation of cheap labor is extremely un-popular. To BOTH sides of the aisle. Republicans AND Democrats, Right Wingers AND Left Wingers.

Absolutely appalled. Again, I won't help it in the ratings one bit.

If they can make a popular comedy called Hogan's Heroes, a funny show about Nazi prison camps, anything is possible. This show is not the cause or making fun of the outsourcing problem, but a show about something that is real. Next time, just find a job that requires a better education that can't be outsourced, and when you do, don't continuously ask for a raise until they figure they'll just pay someone else to do your crappy job cheaper

we live in a capitalist society, if you like it, you can't then bitch and moan because supply and demand forces you out of a job. If you demand to get paid more and more for a job that anyone can do, at some point, your capitalist boss is going to find a cheaper alternative, to keep his profits up.

This show doesn't make fun, encourage or promote outsourcing, it only shows the reality of it

People need to realize that jobs evolve in this country. They always have and they always will. When the technical capabilities of a country change, certain jobs move out while others move in. It's called advancement. The smart people evolve with this change. The smart people gain new skills and ride the wave of new opportunity that fills any void leftover from things such as outsourcing, technology implementation, or resource reallocation. The losers whine about it. The losers sulk in their woes, refusing to accept that times change. The losers post on message boards about how they are so offended by this change. All the people posting on these boards whining about how they are so offended by a comedy show that laughs at *gasp* outsourcing are losers. I dunno, I try to be a winner, not a whiner.

Let's say I work for a call center in the US and my job gets outsourced. I would take that as a sign. A sign that working in this field in the US is a dying trend. And I would try to gain skills in a new field. And in gaining new skills, I would try to re-position myself in a field that I feel fairly confident would be around in the US for a considerable amount of time. Maybe a field that is similarly related, maybe a field that involves a technological capacity that fits with American prowess. I would try to discover what my niche will be.

I would not sit at home trying to find the exact same job I had that just got outsourced. (Well, maybe I would temporarily, to help pay for the school I was attending to acquire new skills.) I would not sit at home and post on boards about how pissed I was that my job got outsourced. I would not get pissed off at the company for resorting to outsourcing...because I would understand the dynamics of how jobs move in this world. Advancements in technology also create a void similar to what outsourcing creates. America lost many farmers in the technical revolution. Factory workers is another area. Taiwan, Singapore, and South Korea took electronic manufacturing jobs that were once a staple in America and Japan. It happens in many industries, in many countries, and across time. To not understand this dynamic is to not understand reality. To be pissed about something that is as natural as the mixing of races/cultures over time is to be ignorant. Why live in this world with blinders on?

Don't be a loser, be a winner!

Hey OP. I hate that WWII happened, but I still enjoy watching war films...

I agree completely and do not find the premise of this show to be funny..I myself deal with the problems with outsourcing everyday. I have lost many of my peers in the I.T industry to outsourcing to India/Mexico. One thing i can tell you for certain is the level of competence of these workers(from our experience) in India is absolutely terrible. Their communication skills are non-existent, they'll go for days without answering requests only to respond days later that they did not receive any request. They, for the most part, lack manners and are very pushy(i dont think they even realize they behave this way)..Their telephony systems are always fuzzy, their heavy accents are almost impossible to understand and cause simple conference calls to take hours. I could go on and on of stories of their incompetence but i'll digress before i start to get really annoyed!!
I really hope this show doesnt catch on because i cant even stand to see their trailers for the show as i deal with this crap on a daily basis and to me, it is not funny..

I think that doesn't sound morally wrong to move it to Oklahoma, although I'm really sorry you got laid off.

I think that outsourcing to other countries is problematic and violates our ethics. I think minimum wage is a fair price to pay and we pay people abroad less than minimum wage.

Minimum wage laws only apply in the US, and other countries have different standards/costs of living... I assume these companies pay fair wages, according to the laws of where they're outsourcing.
