More drama than expected

Based on the marketing for this I expected more of a raunchy sex comedy. Turned out to actually be pretty tame, despite JLaw's nude scene. While there were a few funny moments, the overall tone was more dramatic and emotional than anticipated.

Not a bad movie, but not exactly good either. First half was more enjoyable than the second. Overall I'd rate it a 5/10.

I watched the nude Summerslam on the beach clip. I feel like I've seen all that needs to be seen from this flick.

One of those movies that would have been popular back in the VHS days, ya know? We're talking pause and rewind the tape ala Basic Instinct (1992) type stuff.

reply

Haha yeah I can see that. Now that you mention it, it might be time for a Basic Instinct rewatch...

NO...THE MOVIE IS ENTERTAINING...NOT EVERYONE IS LED THROUGH LIFE MY THEIR DICK...AS YOU SEEM TO BE.

reply

agree.... the ending was also melancholic...... we really don't know how our two friends will fare.

Him at school and Maddie in California.... how the hell will she handle life there and what will she do for a living.

Dramatic / a bit sad, ending

reply

THE ENDING WAS REAL...NO CLEAR CUT ANSWERS ONLY POSSIBILITIES.

reply

right... but when you watch a movie it is nice to have closure .

otherwise most folks would watch documentaries.

a "no hard feelings 2" would not be bad

reply

THAT IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE...SOME MOVIES HAVE CLEAR CUT ENDINGS...SOME LEAVE YOU GUESSING...THAT LAST LOOK BETWEEN CHARACTERS AT THE END OF THE GRADUATE COMES TO MIND WHEN DISCUSSING NO HARD FEELINGS.

reply

I don't mind an ambiguous ending depending on the film and how the conclusion is executed. I'm just not sure it was done very well here.

It seemed the filmmakers were trying too hard to pull heartstrings, which in this case left me rolling my eyes more than wanting a sequel. I do understand your sentiment though. For fans of the movie, a sequel could make sense.

reply

Right, i do like these characters.

And since this was a welcomed return of the old school comedies, i think it would be great with a sequel.

It CAN be done...... as we saw with 21 and 22 Jump street.

If you read the romantic comedy about Percy's mind, you get the feeling that someone of the same age couldn't have done it better. You go to his parents' table, take the car and fuck. And what doesn't fit is made to fit just to get a good ending?

Okay, my first time wasn't much better. Not because she was older and experienced and I had to take the money from a school friend's grandma so we could share and have sex in her rented room, but because for the first time there is still the sexuality that I mean in lonely moments and that I miss. Would we both try to make something fit that doesn't fit together if we carry out the law of the soul?

reply

I don’t mean to be rude but I’m really struggling to make sense of your post.
