How the hell can you ride a bike without brakes???
??? How the hell do those messangers stop? Do they set their foot down? How is that better then a good ol brake???
shareWilee is riding a fixie bike. Fixie means having a fixed drivetrain or in other words no freewheel. When you ride a bike you can stop pedaling and the wheels still turn, when a fixie biker stops pedaling, either he is strong enough and the wheels stop turning or he isn't and the pedals keep turning. You can see in the film when he is drifting/skidding, he is stretching his leg back to stop the pedals from turning.

I thought that was dumb too at first but then I assumed that maybe she was riding a fixie WITH a hand brake.

It does when she was riding a fixie all along, it just happened to have a front brake fitted also
