Your favorite special weapon/advanced training ?

I played a Vanguard (as in ME1 before), and I enjoyed the heck out of the Claymore shotgun ; a somehow situational, but immensively satisfying gun, espacially when fully upgraded and loaded with incendiary rounds.

What about you ? What was your way, depending on your class ?

I loved the mattock AR, especially once upgraded for greater accuracy.

Was talking about the gun you choose during the Collector ship mission... And the Mattock is DLC anyway, you have to pay real money to get it, I find that to be a very idiotic and greedy attitude from Bioware to cut important content out of the main game and sell it as DlC... Thankfully in ME3 the mistake was avoided for items (?From Ashes? still suffered from it ), as the amount of vanilla guns is decent for any class.

Well, my favorites are in ME3.

I like playing as Vanguard and using the biotic charge and nova combination. You can kill a lot of things with that without ever using a weapon and it's intense because it gets you up close and personal.

It's' fun using biotic charge to set off a biotic detonation into a singularity as well.

I like the Geth shotgun. If you use Tali (improving her weapon damage) and James, you can have three of these bad boys going at once.

Recently played as much as possible with the Talon pistol which is a brilliant compromise between pistol and shotgun. I really enjoyed it.

I find the single most useful weapon to be the Hornet machine pistol. Lightweight. Powerful. You can attack armor with it in a way that the other machine pistols don't allow and it is murder on shields, barriers and health.

My favorite class is Engineer so I make my advanced training Assault rifles since I don't get them otherwise. In ME2, the Mattock is my preferred.

I also went with Engineer. It was ok. The combat drone was useful to distract the enemies.
But at the beginning, playing just with pistols, was a bit lame.

It was a major upgrade when I found the Locust sub-machine gun.

I always play an Adept, and for ME2, my fave advanced training was for Warp Ammo. However, I have played all the other classes, save for Soldier. Adept is my favorite because I love being able to manipulate Mass Effect fields. (Quite often I play "nuker" classes in 3rd-person shooter games). The downside is, without mods, your character is somewhat limited in weapons.

The Engineer one was great, because then you can manipulate Geth and LOKI/YMIR robots, and have your own attack drone that drives the enemies bonkers, hehe. It was especially funny to see the Geth Colossus get mad when I'd reprogram some of the Geth troops to attack their own kind during the final battle to rescue Tali. I also laughed at how the Klixen reacted to the drone when fighting them on that Chlorine planet, and helping with Grunt's initiation into Clan Urdnot.
