Not a fan of the movie

No one single reason, but will try to explain.

The camera shaking i felt was excessive and this does put me off various modern media content.

The rest I think is a problem with the movie industry in general.

Captains are perfect, intelligent all the time, US military is all out supreme force. Of course movies are propaganda as much as entertainment but here is some specific flaws.

Mothership doesnt come to reinforce seized cargo ship after its boarded.
Lifeboat seems to need forever to hit land.
The waiting for all 3 green shots was a way too long part of the movie.
Phillips (irish) was able to think straight and outsmart the pirates but then when he is boarding the warship he then starts acting realistic with a mental breakdown as one would expect someone to act when their life is in danger, but of course if the crew all acted like that including the captain then we wouldnt have a hollywood movie.
The warship several 100s of miles away is able to close in on the lifeboat quicker than the lifeboat reaches land.
Irish is told to sit in a specific seat right in front of the pirates who can speak english and none of them react to that.

Better movie would have been pirates capturing a military ship, the military then does a failed rescue operation, and the ending is loss of lives including American captains and negotiators, seal members etc, prisoner exchange pirates win. Ending we see American chiefs recognising they cant be authoritarian over everything and agree to no longer police pirates seas in exchange for annual payments pirates wont raid passing ships.

Not that I want every movie to be that way, but sadly you just know the good guys will win these days, and it was way too one sided, no suspense at all, apart from right at the start when they discover they been followed.
