The attention to detail regarding Daryl's past

In one of the episodes I think from Season 11 not sure which one Daryl mentions he used to live in a house with his brother and father that had a lake out at the back. This is exactly what we see in the game: 'The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.' Have not read the comics so not sure if this is described, otherwise amazing attention to detail to link a prequel game that hardly many played.
