How did Fox even get away with that ending scene?

Not just because it's awful, but come on... it so blatantly rips off the ending of Age Of Ultron that Marvel might as well have sued them for it. Especially since it's clearly added in the reshoots that were going on through April (hence Kate Mara's obvious wig) when AOU was already released.

Of course, for Marvel to know about this, they'd have to actually see it.

Idk. It is virtually a recreation of the end of AoU.. Its strange. I guess maybe the director knew the project was fcuked and was trolling the studio/audience.. Or maybe the studio thought fcuk it this film is in the toilet just try anything copy Avengers.

I don't see the similarity. Was the ending of F4 also a shitty Audi commercial? I do not remember...
