Vicky's death

Just noticed, very similar to Sarah's in H20, in the physical sense, how Michael has them pinned to the floor and seemingly stabs much more than necessary to do the job

When I was forced to process the scene of her slipping and falling, I knew for sure this movie would be mediocre.

Yeah, that part was too easy. She was the only babysitter death in this one, and she was the 'doomed blonde' archetype in this one, or the closest to it, last major female death, etc. Her death should've been longer and better written than just a slip and fall

Though, it is a bit impacting that she yells at Julian to run

Though in retrospect, compare her death to Annie or Lynda in the original. They're iconic for how they were done and the fact that they're in the original. But they were also simplistic in execution. Neither was a chase scene. Neither made it more than a few inches after realizing they were in danger. So Vicky did make it further in that regard. Though to have her get out the front door like Annie did in Rob Zombie's and pulled back in could've been cool.

Also I hope that they don't turn this into "Julian witnessed this as a kid, so he'll take on the serial killer mantle, a la Jamie." That'd be so lame. I guess they hinted at that with Allyson, which would be kind of like Jamie, but they're not related here. Unless in one of the next to they re-reveal him to be her brother, which could be cool. It'd now be unexpected and in a different way, and after that long of not knowing, possibly more traumatic.
