What's wrong with Audrey's singing?

Maybe they didn't make it bad enough for the movie? Maybe the few beers I had when watching this movie clouded my judgment? But I thought it was fine in this movie.

I didn't think her singing was that bad until they said it was bad. I still don't think it was horrible, just a bit hokey.

They couldn't find an actress that sang as bad as Audrey

reply

they couldnt find one, because she was the worst female singer in the history of the world....check it out on Youtube

I checked out the clips on YouTube, and her voice was indeed very memorable – for all the wrong reasons.

...her singing sucked: 1) poor tone quality, 2) bad timing and phrasing, 3) tone deaf and off key often, 4) charisma of a damp rag. Basically, you just can't get any worse singing than Miss Audrey's. And to think her fury at not being well-received was the driving force behind the misery she visted upon Hank. Wow. Just wow.

Oh, come on. Yoko is ten times worse.

That's how I saw (heard) it. I actually thought she sounded decent and they sounded good together. It wasn't until they had the scene where the band is talking about how bad she is that she actually sounded a little worse. But nothing close to the true badness the real Audrey achieved.

I don't know if they just couldn't get Elizabeth Olson to sing bad enough, or if the director didn't press her right. But that aspect wasn't developed well.

The real Audrey was a notoriously bad singer (check her out on youtube) but this girl just sang "semi-bad", to make matters worth Tom Hiddleston is scarcely any better yet he is playing one of the great country singers of all time.

Are you kidding? As they would say in the south she couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.
