Without Marilyn or Eddie it did not really feel like the Munsters.

I get it was a prequel but it also made me realise how much the characters of Eddie and Marilyn added to the original show. All through the films, they were missed. They did not even give an Easter egg about them coming up at the end.

Completely agree.

I agree. When it was announced to be a prequel, I was sure the ending would be Lily saying "Guess what? I'm pregnant!" with Herman fainting through a table. All we got was "I'm too young to have kids! I'm only 150!" And Marilyn was in her late teens or early 20s when the show started and she once said she lived with them since she was a baby... Prequel or not, I think they could've included them in some way or set it up for their future inclusion.

But Rob and Sheri have no kids and never wanted any. Rob seems to like modeling his characters after himself. Herman being a rock star is one example. So perhaps he thinks HIS Munsters family is already complete with just the 3.

Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head there. Rob Zombie do not seem capable to write about a happy family unit so he found a way to remove the two elements he would have had a hard time to write about. Unfortunately the Munsters was SO much about that family unit that obviously this film did not quite feel like it’s source materiel. It should have been called “Herman and Lilly” rather than the Munsters as they were not a family in his film.

It's an original crime epic set in the 1930s, with Robert dinero
