The Season 2 Episode on Autism

was incredibly affecting. Paul Mullin, a very tough player and fan favorite reveals his young son was diagnosed with autism. In an interview with the crew he gets very emotional and tearful. He says that his son was developing normally up until 12 months and then the boy stopped all verbal communication and all eye contact.

He describes what it’s like as the father of a child with autism: “He’s a happy lad, enjoys every single day. Makes me smile. It’s true he doesn't talk, he’s nonverbal, but he might as well talk because I know exactly everything he needs and when he needs it. He’s a joy. I wouldn’t change him for the world.” It’s amazing they waited until Season 2 to tell this important story about a father’s love and acceptance
