Velma just got ruined in this series

I swear, the writers went out of their way to COMPLETELY butcher the character of Velma. No, seriously, the idea of having her younger child self doing sadistic antics that drove her mother away is an insult to what Velma's supposed to be.

In Scooby Doo, Where Are You?, Velma is an intellectual person who deduces clever ways to figure out the clues to solve any mystery. Plus, she was also a goofy person who contrasted with Shaggy and Scooby very well in each episode. Not to mention the later incarnations of the Scooby Doo franchise were accurate to Velma's character (the direct to video movies included).

Velma in this series is a god damn sociopath! Am I the only one who got pissed off at that?
