I swear, every time anyone referred to the Katee Sackhoff character, I thought they were saying "Doll" - which gave her a completely different vibe. Indeed, I was kind of disappointed when I found out the character's name was "Dahl."

One of the film's best moments is her rescue of Riddick, falling on top of his prone frame, her legs spread as she lands on his midsection. The two of them are then lifted off the planet's surface with Dahl's legs wrapped around Riddick.

"Let me ask you something," she says, "sweet-like." Referring to Riddick's earlier prophecy that he would be "balls deep" in Dahl but only after she asked him "sweet-like."

Great moment in the film.

My Mates maiden name is Dahl. She is a very pretty little Blonde thing & she HATED her last name. Everyone though her name was 'DOLL' too. Either that or they thought it was a sexist nick name like 'Blondie'. Drove her Crazy!!!!!

Either:

- Her own crew knew she wasn't, but she said it to the one guy because she didn't want that one guy coming onto her.

- Or she says it in general as she's in a male crew, working a career that is largely dominated by men, so by claiming she's a lesbian, she's basically able to focus on the work and not have to put up with the men constantly coming onto her.

The 2 characters he's best known for are Riddick and Dominic Toretto, and the latter is not quite as over the top as Riddick despite being a super skilled car thief. I think he just overdid his role in Riddick, that's all.

In general, playing the "L" trick doesn't stop men from hitting on chicks. It might stop them from scoring, but even if they know the deal, they are going to try!

So it's just useless to make that statement to stop men from approaching. The nicer guys back away, the others, like Riddick, just keep on coming.

so dahl says she doesn`t *beep* men and that automatically makes her a lesbian, could it be that she isn`t interested in sex or is waiting for the right person to come along, after all she isn`t going to say she`s not into lesbians or is bi when she is the only female in a group of men.

She was basically a cross between Ripley and Private Vasquez.

Notice that the Mud Demons on that planet resembled and sounded just like the Xenomorphes from the Alien franchise?! kinda of a rip off.

I have lesbian friends that will hit it with a man. Dahl was definitely flirting with him and then asked him sweet like at the end while straddling him. I am pretty sure she wanted him, lesbian or no.

I'm pretty confident the implication was supposed to be she was just pretending to be a lesbian and he knew she was lying. It was sort of like the "The girl is bleeding" scene from the first movie.

I didn't place that much significance on her "no sex with guys" line, considering who she said it to (and the context). Then there was the last scene (the airlift), which I actually thought was awful. Suddenly, she decides she wants to get it on with a shockingly homicidal criminal (who can be loyal and self-sacrificing when he wants to be).

She said she 'doesn't *beep* guys'. There's a difference. Riddick isn't 'guys'. Probably her policy of celibacy is a defense against getting hit on by every guy she meets.
