Outstanding horror cinema

I’m not a big fan of this director but this movie was simply sublime. It gave me Melancholia vibes but even more satisfying as a whole. This movie is nearly perfect to me. The cinematography is perfect though. For sure. I think I felt how they wanted me to feel which wasn’t really scared but rather mesmerized, hypnotized, uncomfortable and creeped out. I’m pretty sure. Did I catch all the symbolism and metaphors though? I’m not really sure. Here is my very own crazy conclusion though: “ after suffering from a severely traumatic relationship, Harper goes for a trip vacation and there she faces her inner turmoil and building up hatred towards men. She cuts (stab) the links she had with the the male gender and has a spiritual rebirth. While at the manor, she discovers a skill and kills another man that wasn’t treating her with respect. She is now free emotionally and although she will probably never give birth, she’s happy to see her friend pregnant.” My rating: 8.5/10

(Not as great as Mother! But close!)

I also enjoyed watching this film. What's interesting is how it SUCKS you in with the visions of the GORGEOUS scenery in the country, and the character's delight at hearing the echos of her voice in the TUNNEL, before the more horrific episodes begin.

I also enjoyed watching MELANCHOLIA as well ... which also deals with a female being abused by her male boss (or her future father-in-law) ... who displays the same kind of sexist attitudes as the other character endures in the CREEPY town that she visits.
