I skipped "Precious". I'll skip "The Whale". If I want to be depressed, it's easier to turn on the news. And it's free.
I didn’t think the film was overly depressing at all.
Plus the film has fantastic performance from Brendan Fraser and Hong Chau and both their characters are very endearing.
Really depressing films avoid Requiem for a Dream, Manchester by the Sea, Joker, The Road and Aftersun.
