How could people like this....

....watching cringe-worthy scenes of oldies in their 80s or 90s have sex!

The antagonist is an old horny lady who is also a psychopath murderer. If all her husband could satisfy her at the end, why wouldn't he do that before she gets going on a killing spree?

The movie is quite contrived and an incoherent mess. The psychological objective is not established and the character does just what the writer wants to do. I mean first she tries to seduce someone and if he doesn't agree, kills him. Later she simply kills without seducing or attempting to know if that person would want to have sex with her. The Old Man; was he a psychopath too.....yes/no?....if not then why did he rent his place to the crews knowing already the nature of his killer wife. If yes, what was his psychological objective....let her wife kill the crews, get excited and get laid? Whatever it may be....logic sucks for sure.

The film-makers must have felt that they are doing some kind of artistic thing in shooting that oldy sex scene, but it was cringe-worthy as hell. I know some simpletons here will start shooting you didn't' relate to their loneliness, frustration, worthlessness of old people and shit like that.

Well, a coherent script would have established some sense, like the old lady was having some kind of genetic disorder which made her still produce the required sex-craving hormones and/or stop menopause. And how some past events made her hate teenagers.

The action/horror/violence too...was just ok and nothing special.

If you want to watch good movies, watch Run (2020), The Hunt (2020). A Quiet Place II

Sacrament was a great movie. It was very coherent, had a nice logical build up, shocking scenes and a perfect end.

This one just sucked and is definitely over-rated by lot of simpletons trying to see deeper meanings out of it.

Doing awkward old people nude scenes is the latest trend in horror. Ari Aster done it in both Hereditary and Midsommar. It's used to make the audience feel awkward and to make them laugh. I don't care for it either.

I really don't understand why the critics fell heels over heads for this film. The metascore and RT score are elite caliber for Horror films (95% on RT with an average score of 7.8 and a metascore of 78).

I understand why fans enjoy it. It's something of a throw back slasher film, there are nude scenes from Snow and Goth, people get killed one-by-one, it homages/references numerous beloved films most notably The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I don't really see the deep message or 'brains' that critics have praised. It is quite run of the mill, a homage to old school slasher films with an edgy porno plotline.

I agree with you. The movie didn't suck but it ended up being pretty ordinary. I liked the beginning better than the rest. That whole Texas Chainsaw Massacre 70s horror movie vibe.

Then, I don't know... maybe I'm falling victim to ageism here but I like my killers to not be an old lady who looks like she can barely stand up. It wasn't very credible to me.

Agree with SASKIA47 - As a fan of slashers and suspense, I liked it. It's well made; the filmmaking craft and acting are at a higher level than a lot of slasher movies. All the characters had some depth, and the suspense was very well done.

Maybe the film thinks it's deeper than I found it to be - and there are ideas in there that must have impressed critics - some interesting stuff to a degree. I enjoyed it as a horror/slasher fan. It delivered on that level so I can recommend it to fans of the genre.

the old people stuff is a part of horror. No one wants to face that we are going to be there someday.
