Why is this low on score?

personally i think it's current score, which is a 6.4/10 average with 36,866 votes, is about right for the movie as it's not bad but not really good either as it's ultimately an average movie for me.

it's one of those movies that's decent enough to watch once but nothing ill care to see again and re-watch factor is what ultimately makes or breaks a movie in the long run.

bottom line for me... 6/10 (Thumbs Down)

When it comes down to it the only opinion that matters is your own, plus I don't trust a lot of IMDb ratings "some are okay". If I look for ratings it's going to be from file sharers because they're raw with no censorship, no rules of conduct, and most important no paid reviews. Every penny I spend on entertainment is decided by those reviews and it's served me well for years now. File sharers loved it and when I went to catch it on the big screen I was not disappointed, I enjoyed it very much.
Also if you're wondering, every file sharing site including streaming, forums, and trackers public/private I've seen this on "over 1000" has a rating of 7.8+ with the majority of comments being positive. What can I say, I like to surf multiple places, well scrape, it helps me get a better idea.

Don't get me wrong, I love IMDb, but I treat it like I'm reading I'm the best criminal ever by inmate #55754-45085 "dial it" :P

12% for 47 Ronin, and 87% for The Matrix on rottentomatoes. So you can take back your Keanu haters theory. The movie is just bad, just look up the trailer, it's a mess.

A great real story made too simplistic a la hollywood. It could have been so great, but was rather shallow.

Needed more Rinko Kikuchi.

But then again, almost every movie needs more Rinko Kikuchi. Even her best movie, "Bang Bang and Two Other Guys... and Another Girl" still could have used more Rinko.

On a serious note though, I think Keanu was more believable at points, but I was a little annoyed about how flat the rest of the movie was. Perhaps it should be called "Bang Bang and 47 Guys Who REALLY Don't Like Her... And Another Guy Who's Kind of a Douche... and a Big Dude".

I don't live in Japan, but I've been living in Asia for 10 years with some pretty amazing experiences and I didn't much care for the English dialogue and how Hollywood everything was. I was itching for subtitles and hearing Rinko deliver her lines naturally... and the other guys too.

Oh and FWIW, the CG was bad, but I felt the fabric flying looked quite good and wished I had seen more of Keanu's gifts of death.

Oh well.

It's because a lot of people think that the original folktale is a true story (hint: it's not), and that making it a wild fantasy movie is crapping on history.

Every time you come to a post on imdb which you feel inclined to replay or comment the last pages are filled with insults, anyway...

I just saw the film last night, is not a classic but it was fun, great visuals, lame acting and in my opinion some 10-15min longer than it should be, but it was interesting and fun to watch, for the kind of film it is I give it a 6.5 score.

I'm not mad, I just been in a very bad mood for the last 14 years
