Why is this low on score?

Well, 6.something is about right. I like this movie. It's pretty fun to watch. But it's 6.7-6.8 for me and I don't have any problem with Keanu.

One thing that bothers me though. Haters whined about all the fantasy elements in this movie. Don't they know there's this little website called YouTube where they can watch trailers before spending their time and money on movies ???

That is just it, some of the most active people on the boards are Keanu haters, and they love to post negative stuff about him on the boards and are first in line to vote and lower the scores on his films. They are rabid about it, it seems.

I liked it. I think it's a movie I can rematch again without feeling forced. The Last Samurai was also a good film but I didn't find it had great replay value as I tried watching it again some years later and could not finish it.

Bias be told, I do prefer Keanu over Tom Cruises' acting but that's really not much of an endorsement.

47 was really good with Sanada as pretty much the lead. I was a bit let down on the use of CG effects or lack thereof. From the trailers, it seemed like they were using a lot of it to fight demons and witch craft. All in all, very pleasant film. I think the girl in TLS was really good though; the story and the relationship but more from the actor who played the grieving wife really sold it for me. I think also the fact that 47 Ronin was spoken almost completely in English detracted some points from an otherwise very good film. If they did it equal balance of English and Japanese like TLS did, I would rate this much higher but as it is, I'd say it's a solid 7 to 7.5 for what it is. That said, on first viewing, TLS to me scored very high. I'd say 9 for sure, but the fact that I said it has little replay value doesn't factor in to my score. I think a film should stand on its merit to compel and sell itself upon first impression and TLS was very good so a solid 9. I mean a movie like The Big Lebowski is a great movie I've watched and rewatched probably 100 times but I would not say it's a perfect 10. It's all context, really
