There are some interesting concepts explored here, but this film falls short quite a bit.

Jason Momoa did well as Flip.
Chris O' Dowd did well. His American accent is basically flawless .
I always enjoy Kyle Chandler on screen.
Marlow Barkley did well.

I felt the dream worlds fell short, and that was the most disappointing aspect of the film. Not enough dream worlds were explored. We could've had a true adventure here through multiple worlds, but the dream worlds were boring, and not much fun. The nightmares "monster" was not well executed. Felt they could've done a lot better with it.

Bad score and one time watch.

I didn't like Momoa as Flip at all. I think it was his particular voice and lack of expression, or so it seemed to me.

I thought O'Dowd was really boring and I'm sure his character was meant to come across that way as a man who has no idea how to deal with kids and that the child would change him for the story. But his American accent was a massive surprise! I've been so used to seeing him in The IT Crowd with the Irish accent that it was so weird.

It was certainly interesting with the ideas in the dream worlds but I found some of it just a bit too weird. I mean, a monster garbage truck with a door in the dash? Just too bizarre.

The little kids will enjoy it for a couple of hours but thinking about it too much leads to disappointment.
