What would you have done?

I personally would have jumped, landed on to the wolf's back, scared it and made it run with me still on its back :P

i just thought of a crazy idea. I would of took a giant dump and then took that s**t and rubbed it all over myself and then the wolves would of smelled it and ran away. lol like the scene from Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Of course after escaping i'd have to take a shower in clorox though haha.

Tough question. I'd have probably taken out my phone and called the *beep* resort manager!

Oh whisky, leave me alone.

Er.... I would not have gone up the lift in the first place when the guy running the lift said they were shutting it because there was bad weather coming in...

Duh...

But then that wouldn't have created a 'situation' horror/thriller...

I did notice that all their hats were knitted. No one wears knitted hats these days because they are a bit drafty. You could unravel them to make a three ply cord to arrest the drop even if it doesn't fully reach the ground. I never leave home without a carabiner. Having said that I will never look at a ski lift the same way again.

I just looked online to see the yardage needed to knit a bulky hat 150 - 175. That would be ample to make a three or maybe a 6 ply cord. The girl had a knitted scarf as well. You would have to think through the repel technique. Sure it could be done.

I would have acted out all my dirtiest fantasies on the girl before I mounted her and jumped off, using her as a crash mat to absorb the energy, thus allowing me to ride her corpse down the mountain and also use it as a bargaining chip should any wolves come near me.

I'd have let the other two people with me get eaten by wolves until they were sated on man meat, so I could get down by some freakish luck and walk out of there to a nearby road where someone could take me to a well-stocked bar (or hospital).

Or, when they both needed a leak at the start, I'd have suggested holding onto it as long as possible then we'd urinate at the same time into the freezing air, forming a piss ice chute (Ice Man-style) and we'd have slide safely to the ground. Then we'd have broken the piss chute into spears, killed all the wolves and eaten their raw flesh before making a wolf skin toboggan (with some loose branches for the frame) and zoomed down the mountain to safety. Never underestimate the power of wee.

I would have jumped. But done it correctly. The guy just kinda flung himself from the lift. I would have hung from the lift by my arms to 1. give myself the extra 6 feet of impact damage and 2. also give myself a better angle to land.
Then I would have landed better. Being an airborne soldier, I basically jump out of planes with crappy parachutes that are designed to get me to the ground as quickly and as safely as possible. I also weigh 200 pounds which means I come crashing to the ground every time. I have broken a leg jumping because I landed with my feet apart. The rule is to keep your feet and knees together. And try to imagine yourself turning to jello when you hit the ground. Don't try to land on your feet. Make your body like the bottom of a rocking chair so that you can absorb as much of the impact as possible.
Essentially, solving the first problem solves the second. If there is no blood to attract a wolf, then there is no wolf and no wolf pack. However, if they did show, my plan of action would be to inevitably go out swinging...

Someone said on a comment somewhere that Dan jumped because he thought the snow was way higher than it actually was, uh, no, everyone saw the damn guy come with the plow truck and clean it up, so, Dan knew exactly how far he was jumping. As for the clothes, that would never work, it would surely rip and the person on the rope would've fallen and broken their back, head arms or something. And even then, if there were wolves around, and this person eventually even did make it to the bottom unharmed, the wolves could've gotten to the person and killed them on their way down the mountain. And then, what then? The person who left for help got eaten by the wolves, just like it happend to Lynch, and now what? There would be 2 of them on the lift, waiting for help. And what would anyone do then? Personally, the best option really was the climbing on the cables, although, if the wolves were around it wouldn't help. I would probably stay there for a couple days, I mean, someone has got to report those people missing, and when they got there, they would see their car was there, as we can see when the girl is going down to the road, their car was the only one left in the parking lot. If 4 days go by and no one shows up, then, I would defnitely rather die up there than eaten by wolves. But that girl got so lucky, the chair actually came down and gave her the absolute way out, of course the wolves were there, so, that is just absurd to me, I can't even process getting eaten by anything. I think the blood did atract the wolves in the first place, but again, all the noise they made did too. There is nothing in this movie except for the 3 people in the damn chair, yet it is so absolutely good, I mean, incredible. I wonder, what would I really do?

Built a helicopter and flown down the mountain of course

ok, the movie has some exaggerations in it, because it's a movie, but the situation that arose it's decently believable .
Probably the best idea was waiting for the morning and try to keep each other warm, but if there is no other alternative than jumping i think the best idea it's that the girl should jump ,and chivalry it's not appropriated here, she is way thinner than the rest and i think two guys can hold her and lower an improvisational rope with two clothes, i don't think a longer one will hold . And ,of course, after some hours of snowing maybe the layer of snow would have been thicker and she could have landed pretty safely .
Fortunately, i have no attraction towards skiing and i cannot imagine being in some similar situation but ,anyway ,that's what i think it is the best way if jumping it's the only solution.
