Nothing funny about these two

I don't know what comic elements they plan to introduce to this story...unless it is a VERY black comedy. It was pretty god awful gruesome what they did to these unsuspecting people. They were two serial killers in actuality and I 'm not sure their crimes should be made light of. I have a good sense of humor and do enjoy dark comedies ( American werewolf...etc) but believe this could end up being the equivalent of something similar to "Ted Bundy...the Musical!" also the victims descendants will not be amused I'm sure.

Thoughts anyone?

reply

Yeah. They should probably drop that idea abut a Sweeney Todd musical as well. He was a nasty man.

the reason I'm troubled about this being a comedy is that the chance to be creepy goes through the roof. these guys were the ultimate deceivers as serial killers. the victims were tricked, the doctors accepted the bodies without question, even burke and hare's wives participated on some level. its such a crazy story, and a comedy will just take all that away from it. most people wont even realize its based on truth unless they say it in the tagline.

i embarrass my offspring!

reply

Yeah, Burke&Hare as a serious film would be a good idea. As a comedy I am not sold.

On another note, the "nothing funny about these two" I naturally assumed was meant for Simon Pegg and guessed there would be another equally contemptible sod co-starring.

You are not a human being, Lola, you are an epidemic.

How can you not know that thats who medical students saw to expand their forte in the field? Using only logic, one can decipher that during the times when medicine was an infant, you had to somehow peer inside the human anatomy without the help of X-rays, intrusive cameras, etc.

Plus, most schools had libraries. How could you not read about history when you were younger? I read comic books, and I was still able to find historical texts about the early life of medicine. During that time, I was infatuated with Camelot, so that means I must have been 11 or 12.

Duhhh... unless this was a sort of comedic poke at the movie... I only have one thing to point out to you; Tim Curry and Simon Pegg in a film. We just needed Frost and this would've been complete.

It was very funny to me and my friends, and we are all 25 - 34 years old... so... maybe age had a factor in it?

It seemed to much of a carry on rather than black humour. It really did not sit well.

Its that man again!!

Remarkably unfunny. A complete waste of everybody's time. Including mine.

and do enjoy dark comedies ( American werewolf...etc)
In which case, you'd see a couple of familiar (if seriously aged) faces.

I didn't find much "funny", but it was... "interesting".
Glad I saw it, won't see it a 2nd time.

Just pretend it's about two fictional grave-robbers instead, then...

why the heck do i keep watching simon pegg in unfunny films ?
maybe its because i remember how good spaced was and am not ready to quite believe hes gone completely to the dark side.
the evidence however is mounting

reply

I also thought it might be a comedy because of those in it; but very soon I saw it was a black comedy. However, now that I read wikipedia's info on the two, Pegg and Sirkus were NOTHING like the two real people! I don't think they could have made a film as dark as the reality... probably couldn't have made any money on it.

reply

I quite agree there is nothing funny about murder or these two!
What next a comedy about the west's, or Mira Hindly and Brady?
And as for the dismil atemp at acting by simple Simon pegg.
