Every episode feels like a filler

I remember when people thought that 16 episodes for Walking Dead season was too much since many episodes felt like a fillers. Now we have only 6 episodes of Daryl and 5 first episodes feel like filler.

They dont have material for even 6 episodes. Daryl just walks around and stumbles upon some people and talks with them. And nothing else happens. I had to fast forward so boring it was.

reply

Yes this series is awful! Boring, boring, boring. I stopped watching it because it was so tedious.

reply

I only watch it because there is 6 episodes. I tuned in first episode to see how they will try to do apocalypse in Europe. And then kinda stayed because it will end quickly. If it would have 10 episoes I would not watch.

Still didnt expect it to be this boring and lifeless. They had so many years to make up something interesting for Daryl. And they didnt. Add to that that Daryl is mentally empty as a bottle. He has no personality, nothing. In Walking Dead there were 10 characters who would do all the character development and things to do while Daryl stood by side looking cool. And now poor thing has to be center of attention and carry his own show.

reply

Episode 6 happened. And its even more boring then previous ones. I cant believe they wasted so much time and money on this dud. They had so much potential to explore how apocalypse is happening in Europe. And did nothing with it.

Daryl is such personality free character that he cant be on his own. He needs someone to tell him where to go and what do to. While he will quietly node and be loyal. He doesnt know what to do when he is on his own. He just wonders around, being lost.

I’m not gonna deny that it was boring but after 12 years of the Walking Dead stories what did you expect you moron. The walkers themselves are not really a threat anymore and the only threat you have left are actual people. There’s nothing more that you can say. The same thing happened in Europe that happened in America so I don’t know what you actually wanna or need to see. Your response is about the dumbest thing posted on the net. Congrats

LOL.

Its very obvious that "recovery" will be held different in different countries. As nations have different mentality and brains.

The moment zombies are not a threat anymore since they are too slow - people will start rebuilding civilization. By making electricity, gasoline. Then everything will roll the moment electricity will be back. They would make safe zones, create some sort of army and start growing real food in fields. Not some small garden with 5 tomatoes like they show.

People in Europe are not as aggressive and ganged up as Americans are. After all they created all progressiveness we know. By the time of 12 years after apocalypse there would be restored civilizations in European countries. With working society, governments and army.

Instead they showed some gangs like style they did in USA based show. One Evil Leader, gang of henchmen who terrorize people for no real reason. It would not be like that in Europe.

reply

Totally disagree, 12 years is too short a time. The mid evil times that Rick and Co. would last years and years before any rebuilding started. If at all. There is no leadership or communication in the country and world. It would be years and years and years before that might even happen. Right now people are still killing to survive and get ahead

reply

Nah... We saw them having electricity and radio and other connection. There were freaking helicopters flying. Cars riding.

The moment humans found out how to make electricity - progress jumped miles ahead.

Civilized people in USA and Europe would not live kike that 12 years after apocalypse when zombies are no threat.

Even few years after we were shown communities that was having electricity from solar panels.

People would gather en masses, create community with leaders, army like guards and would clean up streets and be back to cat least small cities to live in houses. While simultaneously expanding safe zones and killing zombies and building protective fences. There would be gangs of course. But not just gangs like we see in TWD universe.

And Europeans would be back to normal faster. As they are not as aggressive as people in USA. There is no reason to not be. People during Roman Empire and then for 2000 years had a working societies even without electricity. It was not perfect and wars occurred. But still they were building cities, traveling, doing art and progressed. There were police like structures, courts, prisons to sustain order.

NOW people know everything. They have cars, tractors, gasoline and electricity. There are equipment in hospitals. And most of the stuff is still intact. Some people go crazy and become barbarians. But not everyone. People WOULD want to back to normal as fast as they can.

Europe biggest problem would be overpopulation with too many zombies for one mile. USA has less people on bigger land and its easy to hide in less populated areas.

They dont have material for even 6 episodes.

The whole Zombie Apocalypse genre in general is running out of original approaches, due to (in no small part) TWD setting the standard of the same tired lather-rinse-repeat formula for years now.

reply

Yep and agreed. Terrible series with poor pacing. This should have been a 2.5 hour movie at the very least, with the first five episodes consolidated into the first two hours.

Season 1 of The Walking Dead is also a short season yet there is absolutely ZERO filler, every moment, every scene, every conversation has purpose, and the pacing and soundtrack is absolutely magical. Why can’t they do a season like this anymore?

No Frank Darabont. That's why. 😉
