The title will put off many

Potato peels are nasty. Who”d want to eat a pie made of ‘em?

Well, its' a fact that the British people had not much to eat in WW II, so they ate potatoe peels. If history lessons would have a higher priority on American high schools than baseball has, some people over here would even know that WW II is already over since 1945 and that the British still had to use ration cards into the early 1950's (longer than Germans).
I'm just mentioning this, because my 22 year old dental hygienist seriously asked me last year how I escaped concentration camp in Germany (???). At the same time she claimed that she went to college. I couldn't believe it!
As it turned out she kept watching WW II documentaries on the History and National Geographic Channel and was under the impression that WW II is going on RIGHT NOW in Germany. Wow! So much for the US high school education system.

It's not the sexiest title :-)

The "literary society" part of the title attracted me though!

Lots of people eat potato peels all the time these days. In fact, the fancier the restaurant, the more likely you'll have them served to you.
