I know. With very few exceptions there are almost no movies filmed on Nantucket. Very funny. :) Huisman is Dutch which explains the accent. He was great in "The Age of Adaline". Well, its' a fact that the British people had not much to eat in WW II, so they ate potatoe peels. If history lessons would have a higher priority on American high schools than baseball has, some people over here would even know that WW II is already over since 1945 and that the British still had to use ration cards into the early 1950's (longer than Germans). I'm just mentioning this, because my 22 year old dental hygienist seriously asked me last year how I escaped concentration camp in Germany (???). At the same time she claimed that she went to college. I couldn't believe it! As it turned out she kept watching WW II documentaries on the History and National Geographic Channel and was under the impression that WW II is going on RIGHT NOW in Germany. Wow! So much for the US high school education system. Thank you, LocusNOLA. We visited Guernsey in 2014. That's why I was so much looking forward to watch this movie. Supposedly it will be available on amazon prime from 10/5/18 on. Hi MIchiganJFrogg, I tend to like the film noirs that most critics don't like. I'm just reading several film noir books like "Into The Dark" and the one by Alan Silver. Usually the ones that I prefer are only mentuioned briefly and the ones I don't care about get a whole page and several pics. Oh well...everybody has a different taste. "Conflict" and "The Two Mrs. Carrolls" are not even listed in most film noir books. For me they are essentially film noirs. I know. Lifetime used to air good TV movies a few years ago. Their quality is sinking more and more. Thank you :). Thank you, Cornelia, I'll check out "The Night has Eyes" (or is that the one with the young woman getting lost in the moor and ending up in Mason's house?). "The Woman in the Window" is very good and so is "Man Hunt" (also with Joan Bennett and Walter Pidgeon). View all replies >
