I had to turn it off a number of times. It was just more graphic than i could bear. The scene with the tongue almost made me puke. I had no idea they'd push the envelope so far.
Im surprised it was the tongue scene that you thought was the worst because I thought the scene in the bathroom with the girl cutting her face and then getting her head bashed in with the top of the toilet tank was the most gruesome part of the movie.
I agree I turned it off after the tongue scene, it's a pretty hardcore film and normally I'm good with horror but *beep* like the guy pulling the syringe out of his eye socket made me feel ill lol
Then you should definitely not watch Ash vs Evil Dead. Although, I will say the original trilogy, along with the show, deal with insane amounts of gore accompanied with sufficient amounts of camp.
This remake added a level of "realism" and grit to it that made me less...I don't know? Able to stomach it?
I can't imagine what Raimi would have done with a much higher budget all those years ago, though. Maybe the end result would have been the same.
It's really graphic, probably one of the more gruesome horror movies I've ever seen. I did not like the tongue part either. Also the part where glasses guy gets stabbed by Olivia, and then the nail gun...ooof.
And to think, this is the pared down version from an NC-17 cut. Imagine what horrors the MPAA had to watch.
