or at least funny that in its early days, the site's main selling point was exclusivity. You could only join with a Harvard e-mail address, or, later, with an e-mail address belonging to one of their invited universities.
When the site went mainstream, it's the complete opposite - anyone with an e-mail address can create a profile. It's so easy to create fake accounts etc. It's the opposite of exclusivity.
