Deserves a higher score
Still baffled how this movie has such a low rating for such a good movie. Does it have something to do with factual inaccuracies? Because from a film-making standpoint, this is as good as it gets.

shareIt has to do with the fact that a lot of the imdb userbase is made of the morons this movie has nothing to do with nor it does provide escapism for them.
And since most of those morons hated the nerds, which this movie is about, in high school and college (well, the few who actually managed to go to college) out of jealousy, this movie's rating suffers in consequence.
I'm fairly certain it will eventually get a high place in Film History and that's ultimately what matters.

The movie doesn't suffer for it. If one wants escapism, one doesn't watch biopics.
It's really as simple as that.

Lots of vague black-or-white thinking here. I've made endless posts about Star Wars being overrated. I feel no need to rehash.
Social Network is better than many of the 8.0+ rated movies, but probably hundreds of movies are too.
Agree. I think it deserves at least an 8,2.
shareIt's at 7.7 now, right?
7 means good. 8 means great. So it's somewhere between a good movie and a great movie, leaning toward the latter. So it's an almost-great movie.
Sounds accurate to me.
Fair enough if you think it deserves higher but in general 7.7 is not a low score... especially for IMDb standards. It's a solid rating.
shareAgreed . I rated it a 9 and it probably could be a 10. Seen it dozens of times and love it more every time
I view it
Deserves a lower score. It's about an uninteresting jerkoff of a person, it's boring, and the dialog recording is a total failure. From a film-making standpoint, it's almost as bad as it gets, in spite of the fact that it seems to excite a lot of morons.
