Damn, Norm McDonald!
He sucks balls.
He clearly didn't want to be there and probably never wants to be asked back. What other explanation can there be ?
You may leave now.
It was a Tom Green-esque move. Some will dig it, some won't. I thought it was great.
this great blue world of ours
seems a house of leaves
moments before the wind

The crowd actually was laughing pretty well. You know kind of like a Tom Green being corny on purpose but being funny enough to pull it off.
shareYeah. At first I was like "What?" but then when he said "It's a little harsh, but apparently they want to throw you down a well...it says so on the card" I lost it. I thought he was the funniest after Leachman.
shareIt was his schtict he was making full house type jokes, they were intentionally bad and it was probably the funniest out of all the others.

Yeah, he was pure genius, it's certainly the most I laughed during the whole show.
shareYeah, what I love about Norm is that he's not afraid to go in a different direction. And he certainly did tonight. Is it just me, or was this roast in general of a noticeably higher quality than all the others?
What's the Spanish for drunken bum?
It takes a lot of balls to get out there and do what are basically "Bazooka Joe" Bubble gum jokes.
Genius.

They want to murder you in a well. The card says so, so apparently, they want to murder you in a well.
Bob has a beautiful face, like a flower- yeah, cauliflower. No offense, but your face...looks...like cauliflower.

OH MY GOD! Norm was the funniest ever!!! I mean, it was a ROAST you guys. You know, a ROAST! Where comedians get together and are vulgar and crass and talk *beep* on one another, especially the host! So Norm was THE BEST! He completely ignored what a roast was, he went his own way!
Just because someone didn't make sense, does not make them a genius. Unfortunately, too many people don't want to appear that they didn't get it, so they make up reasons why the person was. I didn't get it. I never will. I think that makes me the *beep* genius. Not you shmucks claiming that you did.
You're a dumbass. Do you think all of the other comedians were cracking up just to be nice? This is classic Norm humor and if you don't get it, then I feel sorry for you.
shareYour first paragraph seems to be saying you liked it, and your second paragraph says you didn't...? It's like you're trying to use sarcasm, but don't totally understand what it is.
END THE WARS. TAX THE RICH.
THIS ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE.
He was HYSTERICAL. After one or two of the jokes I got what he was doing and I just couldn't stop laughing.
The joke about Bob bringing a gun to a football game because the Lions and Tigers were playing was so bad that it was great.

I dunno, I thought it was hilarious, and proof that delivery can make even horrible material hilarious. It was appropriate, too, given that Bob Saget is known for making lame, awful, unfunny jokes. Norm basically reading off "insults" from some 3rd grader book probably writen in the 30's was too funny... especially since his delivery made them work.
I mean, c'mon, that "well" thing was brilliant... he made that lame joke hilarious. "You have a lot of well-wishers here tonight... many wish they could throw you down one! They want to murder you in a [b]well[/i]. That seems kind of harsh, but they want to [b]murder[/i] you. In a well. That's what it says here on this card."
And after all the incredibly harsh insults that had been being flung around all night, seeing Norm insulting people by saying they're "for the birds" or "full of baloney" was too freakin' brilliant.
I dunno, I got it, it worked for me.
