...anyone think that there's a chance that Bad/Otis and Jean DID get back together? Sure she was engaged, but engagements break up all the time.

I take it for granted they don't get back together.

Well, yes, it's pretty obvious that they don't. I just like to think that maybe LATER they do. I guess I'm a sucker for odd pairings or something.

I think he disagrees, and so do I. That would have been a pretty disappointing message if they had.

Nope - that's a boat that had sailed. It's a softer end than the book though - sort of a compromise really.
