Olivia's death

What's really creepy is how they set it up specifically to mess with Sidney and Kirby.

Poor Olivia! She got stabbed all over the shop! The through the hand stab I thought was a particularly cool / gruesome touch. If only she'd have accepted Kirby's offer.

But then who'd want to watch utter tripe like Shaun of the Dead?!

Still if she'd checked the closet before....

... How could / would that have turned out?

reply

My question is, how the hell did she not hear Ghostface in the closet???

reply

exactly.

The hand stab and the shot of her with her guts everywhere really shocked everyone. I don't really find her death that shocking anymore years after but when it came out everyone thought it was really brutal.

Her death aftermath was changed (orignally there was some sort pet door around her neck in ode to Tatums death) and the aftermath of the opening girls had Marnie strung up to the ceiling (Casey) and Jenny on the chair (Steve)... I wonder if there were more links to the Original, who knows maybe there was a scene where Judy finds the cops bodies.

Olivia's death in 4, Casey's in 1 and Maureen's in 2 are all pretty brutal for me. None of the deaths in Scream 3 struck me as much.

Whilst I'm not a fan of this entry in the series, the setup here is great and the killing is brutal as hell.
