HBO SUCKS

How dare you get rid of HUNG! First I lose Sex and the City, The Wire, Entourage and now my favorite after only 3 seasons Hung. You all of lost your mind. I want to know what Tanya and Ray are going to do w/ the business and what's up w/ the red head whore being dead or alive. Don't take this show off air. The fans need to start a petition 4 real asap. I love this show!!!!

True and the way HBO is going it could have last forever. Its *beep* cable not network tv. Why not keep shows on their forever unless the writers run out of ideas.

It sucks indeed

Entourage is based on a real agent and a real agency. Hollywood is forever up and down. There was still more to write about. Like E and Vince could have had changes in their marriages and so on. After Entourage went off I thought for sure I would have Hung. Guess I was wrong. HBO just like any cable program plays the same movies over and over again. Now what am I to watch? Pretty useless to even have HBO in my line up now. I'll save some money by getting rid of it like they got rid of my favorite show w/ no real ending. SMH

lol, you've answered your own question (or you are too easily pleased)

reply

Hung sucked. Why drag out a show like that?

reply

Keep shows on their what forever?

reply

Hung was getting kind of stale. I just wish HBO renewed it for one more season to wrap some of the plot lines.

reply

At least in the case of Sex In The City they had planned the canellation and they were able to wind up the final season with an episode that closed the show in a way that made some sense. Hung has just been hung out to dry. No closing of any of the plot lines.

I'm surprised. I thought this was a popular show.

It's not a cancellation if the writers/actors decide to end it.

But it's HBO, it's not like they are selling advertising space. At least tell the shows in advance so they can wrap up all lose ends.

reply

Maybe they will do what the writers of Dead like me did. Make a movie. DLM got canceled by Showtime & people were writing in & complaining. So to fix it, they made a movie that would close up the loose ends & give it a nice ending.

I never watched Hung, seemed like HBO's ripoff of Californication in my opinion. But it seemed like an interesting show.

yeah the show was kind of stale.

HBO Sucks big time, i loved Hung and season 3 was the best season so far.

I hope they will make a movie about Hung or find another station to air?

Dreaming about the future of Hung, one of my favourite series :(

HBO has a habit of ending series before they've wrapped up their plots. I don't subscribe to it anymore, just for that reason... I was upset after the cancellation of Carnivale (with many open plots lines), but when they cancelled Deadwood, that was it for me. If I decide to get wrapped up in any of their series, I'll rent the DVDs. At least I'll be better prepared for the ending.

At least HBO admitted their mistake in cancelling Rome just as people were finding it and the audience had grown. They promised us a movie and never got one. It has been six years and I doubt they will go to that expense now. That show's cancellation was the final straw for me. I gave up on them when I started having to pay again.

Rome was a one of a kind show that appealed to a lot of ages, genders and nationalities. They even had an IMDb page showing it was in the pre production stages but it's gone now I think.

With the exception of Sex and The City and Entourage, I couldn't have said it better myself, it seems like the networks whether cable or network they have all gone mad!!, and to abruptly cancel this great show without tying up loose ends is just wrong, Thomas Jane is one of my favorite actors and I really hate this is happening especially since we are either paying to have the channel or buying the dvds or both.

Here is what truly SUCKS about HBO ... They cancel series that are actually watched regularly and religiously yet they allow an aging old fag like Bill Maher to spread his worthless drivel on and on and on ...

Personally, my favorite was "Deadwood" and after 3 very successful seasons they cancelled it! Yet Bill Maher was left to spew his crap endlessly.

It's amazing that the Sorpranos lasted as long as it did.

HBO does indeed suck when it comes to management decisions.

You hit it on the head! I have no clue but I can't sign up for some reason on HBO.com to express my opinion on Hung's forum. Anyway I guess I just have to find something new to watch. Hopefully HBO will give Hung's writers the option to write and produce a movie so we can get an ending to the last of the show and its characters. All I can say it was good finally seeing Jessica stand up 4 herself. That was rewarding.....

reply

lol @ Dash. I'm sorry you don't like Bill Maher, but honestly (love him or hate him) it is apples and oranges. You know how dirt cheap that show is probably to produce for HBO? I'd wager, aside from any salary Bill gets, a single *episode* of "Boardwalk Empire" can probably cover an entire season of "Real Time" in respect to the writers, set rental, equipment, etc. Plus, he is so controversial, I bet they love all the attention he brings (the "Howard Stern" effect, imo).

I agree though a lot of good HBO shows were cancelled before their time (ROME, Carnival, Deadwood) but HBO usually gives shows a fair shake (at least more so than the other networks, especially non-premium). It comes down to ratings and even more importantly, money. While they were amazing shows, "Deadwood" and "ROME" were some of (if not *the*) most expensive shows ever financed/produced by HBO. I think something like "The Sopranos" lasted as long as it did is that it had such a massive following, there is no way they could have ever cancelled it early. People love mob stories for some reason, lol.

Unfortunately, critical acclaim & quality are not always enough to keep a show going, even on a network as friendly as HBO. I will miss "Hung" but it was really grasping at straws, still, after 3 seasons. HBO gave it more than enough time in my opinion. I only wish they would have concluded it properly, that's all.

Yep...cause petitions work. Put it next to the stack of petitions for Rome, Deadwood and Carnivale...but not John from Cincy

reply

I'll do a petition later on tonight and list the link here. :)

reply

Do start a petition for John from Cincy...please don't ever broadcast that show again!
I tried, oh man I tried to give Cincy a chance. Just wasn't working for me. It's difficult to think it came from the same person who brought us Deadwood.
Win some, lose some I guess.
