Definitely entertaining but

Thought it weird that Idris Elba absolutely disappeared after an intriguing opening scene. I can buy Farahani as a sniper and a suddenly capable helicopter pilot but she was completely implausible as a lethal jiu-jitsu expert against men two times her weight. There was also a scene of her running with the camera angle from behind and it manifestly belied any athleticism. The Davit character was too one dimensional. It made zero sense that Nik grabs her gun from the floor and promptly abandons Tyler alone with the guy on the high rise glass roof while knowing Tyler has been shot in his dominant hand. Silly stuff like that makes this at best, a B grade movie

I enjoyed the film overall, but the main problem I have with it is just how digital it looks. The director is clearly in love with digital trickery rather than doing things practically. While I still enjoyed the film, what was to me an overwhelmingly fake look and obvious lack of practical stunts and effects muted my enthusiasm.

I enjoyed it too and I’ll watch it again down the road. It’s too easy for me to list negatives for some reason. The point you’re making really causes me to appreciate a guy like Tom Cruise and Daniel Craig who try to balance real stunts with CGI. Audience expectations on real stunts means the stars have to exhaustively train, be in top physical condition, and be very well insured. I guess the costs of real stunts is now so high that the directors without that budget have to short cut with the digital stuff.
