very good

The first 20-30 minutes are a bit rushed as they are setting up the story and introducing the characters, but after that it is very good. Farrell and Mortensen are fantastic.

I recommend the book The Boys in the Cave by Matt Gutman. The film only has maybe a quarter of the book, but that is to be expected when the film is 2.5 hours long.

The conditions in the cave are much more difficult than depicted in the film. The dive lights only penetrated a few feet and some of the path was vertical. But a film can't shoot in complete darkness.

Some of the boys got as many as five ketamine shots

The cast of characters in the book is far larger than in the film; some are only mentioned in the voice-overs. Hundreds of people entered the cave with hundreds of scuba tanks staged along the way. Tanks were run in and out as they were emptied and re-filled.

I enjoyed the film.
