this was sort of the first rambo movie to me because i was so young when i saw some of the earlier i can't remember anything from them, just that brian dennehy played the sheriff or something, and that they were very violent i think, and they had a great cast, i really enjoyed the set up to this, but then i found it got out of hand, too messy and so violent i had to look away from the screen actually, not much dialogue the final fifteen minutes, right, the title and montage at the end suggest this is the final rambo movie, right, i thought perhaps, spoiler, they would kill off the role, as i said i can't remember anything from the previous rambo movies, but i got a feeling this was nothing like them, except the violence, and that this movie could have stood on its own without being a rambo sequel, i love sequels though and stallone is like the sequel man, the rocky franchise, the expendables 1-3...

all day darkness then you arrive,
suddenly got burned by sunshine,
by your golden rays at midnight,
you knocked out the cold and dark,
melting my heart.

Enjoy. A friend and I recently marathonned them too. I'd never seen any except part of the first one.

They're awesome action movies and most of them, excellent dramas also. With 2 and 3 you can kind of tell they were steering it toward more campy action but 4 and 5 are much more serious.

It's an overall tragic hero tale of an elite Vietnam veteran with PTSD born of a war the US government wouldn't let its soldiers win. I had an uncle who was a veteran of the same war and it hit home what he and his brethren went through.
