If Walt was the one who beat up one of the gang members?

Why did the gang members start shooting up at Thao's house when they're the ones who did nothing wrong? I wish we would've gotten to see another scene with Walt beating up the gang members.

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense.
Why pick on Thao and his family just because he is going straight?

This would have been a better movie without the gang aspect.
