This movie was terrible and only got any recognition cause they tricked everyone by sticking "Cloverfield" in the title. Whats ridiculous is that some of you actually rated this high. You guys must be worse than The Force Awakens fanboys. 2 hours of time down the drain.

This is the truth.
Also, "woozle_wuzzle" is the best damn IMDB nickname of all-time! Well played.

Youre right about that, me and my wife wanted to see the movie because we thought it had some connection to the cloverfield movie.
It wasnt that bad though, wasnt great but wasnt terrible either. Some parts dragged and I already knew (thanks to the trailers) that there was some kind of non-human threat awaiting the main character outside. I wish I hadnt known that so I could of been surprised.
People will like what they like for various reasons. I do think the IMDB 7.4 is more reflective of my own personal thoughts while the RT 90% Fresh rating is just overkill. I almost never rely on critics to tell me what to think and in the past couple of years I've developed a strong suspicion of their opinions. In the very end I will trust my own judgement, not the critics, since I don't have any skin in the game nor do I have any incentive to push a certain career forward.
I would rate this a 6.5, maybe a 7. I'm unsure about the last 10 minutes or so, but that is not to say I ultimately disliked how the ending was done. Overall a good thriller and it did get my brain going when it came to themes, as should any decent movie - no matter the genre - should do.
