Damn...

I really wanted to like it as much as the first. But the beginning was slow and too many over the top caricatures. The middle had a more intriguing reveal but then the end was convoluted and overreaching. It wasn't as smart where all the pieces seem to fit together perfectly. I was kind of like, "okay, whatever".

Yeah I agree and felt the same. I didn't think the first one was great, but it was at least fun and intriguing. This was much too long, boring and a slog to get through. Half the film is Craig, who I think did good with the part, monologing. The end was really underwhelming as well and I kept expecting a twist that never came.

I guess I just didn't like the structure of the film. I hate when we are presented a story one way, and then given a revised version with a bunch of extra things that happened off camera.

A lot of films do this, and I won't knock it, but it's not my bag. I guess I prefer my mysteries a little more straightforward where you are given subtle clues that allow you to draw a conclusion before a final reveal. Whereas this film brings you close to the end, then goes "Well, actually...here's what really happened.." and then presents you with a bunch of previously hidden information.
