I know I'm gonna get labeled as a troll, hater, sellout, whatever you name it but I think that TP movies are redicilously farfetched!
Well, people should be able to disagree
without calling each other a sell-out.
Why is it that the main antangoinist black man or woman always has a lavish lifestyle, when in truth the average black man in america makes about $30k per year!
(1) There are plenty of movies & sitcoms with poor black folk
(2) Tyler has given us movies that show the working class black man as a good guy -- even a hero -- instead of a low-life dog. In both "...Mad Black Woman" & "Family Reunion" the wealthy brother is an ass-@#$ while the working guy gives the woman a good life.
(3) There are many messages in his movies: one is
for black women and that being wealth doesn't always bring happiness. Some sisters are so worried about the rich brother who marries a white woman. But, you know sometimes being with that guy isn't always some paradise.
And it's always a drop dead gorgeous black woman who happens to be " a LAWYER or DOCTOR!!!"
My friend, movies -- for any race -- often use idealized characters to play a role. Try taking a look at the actor who played the role in a "true to life" movie and then look at the real person who was being portrayed.
What rich azz black group couples camp out in the Rocky Mountains when we all know that black folks don't like the cold!!!!!

Whay can't there be characters who drive hondas, toyotas, fords, etc living in a 1500 sq ft home making a household income like $80- 90k COMBINED!!!!! I'm sick and tired of seeing unrealistic lifestyles on these freaking black movies!!!!! This is comin from a black man!!!
I know of a black man who was an engineer in my company. I'm certain he made a lot more money then me.
A cousin's husband has a son who has a Master's degree and works at a top company -- making good money. This knowledge helped me decide to go back to school in order to get a higher degree.
And why does somebody always have to have marriage issues!!!!
Ah, because many people ... do .... have .... marriage issues.
I know of a two people in my "family" -- one a maternal grandfather, another a cousin of my mothers husband, who are said to be abusive.
Must all black shows be as idealized as the Cosby show ?

Racism is still a major problem ( and not just from whites but also from those who buy into what whites say ) but many of us have risen. Take a look at our current President.

Coming from a white girl, you know what the original poster sounds like? He sounds like he's a white teenager, bored on a weekend with his buddies pretending to be an offended black man to get people in a "race war" via an imdb thread since the malls are closed and it's past their bedtime....
