I forgot to mention "Cube", maybe because it's a cult and many people saw it. But nevertheless - Cube and all its sequels are recommended.

reply

Thanks, but I have watched it and all the sequels. They were all good

The director of Cube subsequently made a far superior film - Cypher. One of the most intelligent sci-fi in recent times.

reply

thx mate, I ll definetely check it out

STALKER by Tarkovsky

I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really.-Del Preston

Stalker was also the first movie that came to my mind when watching it. That one is also mindnumbingly boring, but a lot more beautiful.

Since you liked the Cube trilogy, check out Fermat's Room if you can find it (I think it's only available at Blockbuster right now). Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ9y4SCLvNc

Sleep Dealer - low-budget, intelligent foreign language sci-fi.
eXistenZ - reality-questioning lesser-known brother to the Matrix.

Existenz is one of my favorite movies. I have never heard of Sleep Dealer, I am now checking out that one. Thanks.

Hey, Soldier. Do you know who's in command here?

reply

Unsure exactly what kind of cult following it has, but I love Casshern, a type of live-action/sci-fi/manga smashup that hits all the right numbers, in my book. Both Casshern and Eden Log are in my collection, and it wasn't until recently that I noticed the many thematic similarites between the two films.

Moon, Chrysalis, The Deaths of Ian Stone, Stay, Sunshine, Extremely recommend Donnie Darko, Epoch (actually wasn't bad), The Objective, Cube, Outlander and PRIMER, which is one of the greatest sci-fi films ever, in my opinion. But that's just me, watch it for yourself, but be warned, you must be open minded and an expert with Science Fiction elements to fully understand PRIMER or you won't get it at all. Trust me, i had to watch it twice and I'm a GIANT Sci-fi buff.

Here is yet another virtually unknown, top shelf sci-fi film.
