One thing that is a bit strange

So Spider-Man is super worried in the prior movie that everyone now knows who Spider-Man is.

It's very strange to me that he cares about a secret identity.

Especially considering he is in Avengers where we have the following whose identities are well known -

Ironman

Captain America

Thor and Loki

Dr. Strange

Hulk

Hawkeye

Black Widow

And others like :

Pepper Potts

Antman

Wasp

Valkyrie

Heimdall and Odin

Scarlett Witch

Quicksilver

Nick Fury

Dr. Arnim Zola

Star Lord

Gamora

Drax

Thanos

Maria Hill

etc. I don't quite understand why him having a secret identity is all that important. Like dude, everyone knows almost everything about everyone in Avengers.

What's the big deal with his secrecy now? He's got super powers and can protect himself. He can't ever protect any of his family members all the time. Even with his powers they will be exposed many times as it was in the movies.

So why all the fuss around this. To me it was quite out of place for the premise itself

Still, Spider-Man was awesome as a comic hero. Tobey was the best and his movies were best. Garfield next and then Holland with only the 3rd being good because of the Dr. Strange and other spideys

The movie made it pretty clear with fallout that started almost immediately upon the broadcast

Peter's just a kid, not the world's richest man, not a living legend, not a god

I do think it's BS that MIT would dink him, though. As an Avenger, he's directly and closely associated with one of MIT's most distinguished graduates, Tony Stark. No WAY Parker and his friends don't get everything they want from that school.

Before Peter even reaches the school dean on that bridge, she'd be getting a call from CEO Pepper Potts's assistant threatening to end Stark Industries funding for all the MIT educational programs and capital improvement projects.

Peter, MJ and Ned are back on the roster before the dean gets to the airport
