good and awful

in terms of the matrix meaning, The Matrix Resurrections (2021) did make me feel that Neo was trapped in the system. When Neo woke out into the pod again, it was a clever touch to see the Large Hadron Collider. This film had more details than the others.

But all the acting was terrible, the plot was pointless, action was criminally awful, fighting looked at bit "gay", then I found out Jonathan Groff and Neil Patrick Harris are in fact gay, nothing iconic or memorable, it was trans propoganda which Lana Wachowski the he/she handled the fight choreography.

I do want to see another Matrix which this clearly intended to have a follow up. The reason why Matrix 1 worked was that you wanted to see if Neo was the one, which it kept building up. The Matrix Resurrections I actually walked away during the film to tidy the house.

The fight choreography is criminally amateurish, the plot was to create a female chosen one, which is forced and pointless.

It is a senseless movie which I think put an end to Wachowski's director career, and rightly so.

Absolutely, a child sized chinky looking girl, clearly cannot fight, adding poofs into toilet fights made it woefully unwatchable.

They did the hard bit in The Matrix Resurrections, which was to bring back the characters that were available ; This plot being Neo and Trinity not knowing of their powers.

It clearly was designed to be another 3 part film.

The next film, which I do wish they would make could bring the big action set pieces.

I suspect it would be an even bigger "Matrix Reloaded", which the CGI have far superior polygons rendering mixed with real fighting ability pushing the capabilities of thought. 20 years of technology have passed so it would be better.

The visual style of Matrix Resurrections was paradoxical, some shots like at the end with Trinity finding her powers were superb, the apple shredding ; clearly a lot of time was spent making that result, but other shots looked cheap, cut badly and television like.

The first Matrix had so many things going on with Neo, Cypher's betrayal, the Oracle, then achieving oneness against a corrupt governing system, then the effects, action and fight scenes designed by Yuen Woo-ping.

They clearly tried making Matrix Resurrections a woke, transsexual, girls get it done, gays rule kinda film leaving audiences throwing up down the cinema isles. They sabotaged their own film.
