Sorry, But I dont like this show.

I watch G4 all the time, I follow E3 every year. My favorite show is X-Play, and I watch AOTS when I can. Ninja Warrior is the greatest gameshow along with MXC (Both incredibly similar, Ninja Warrior is just more serious)

I think the funnest console is the NES, my favorite video game is SMB3. I also love Contra games, and several other classic NES games like The Legend of Zelda.

This show isn't funny. I failed to laugh at this show once during the 7 episodes I saw. Thats right, even after not laughing at the previous one once, I gave this show 7 chances (7x about 21 minutes runtime without commercials) which is equivalent to about 145-150 minutes of total lack of any remotely funny humor.

The humor implied in this show is basically what you would think a bunch of 4th Grade potty mouth boys would write. This is easily the most insanely idiotic G4 show ever. This is the most tragic and ONLY flaw in the G4 lineup. Cancel this crap.

I think it´s quite funny, takes some time before it grows on you, but when it does..its funny. for example the epiosode "The Take Over"..i laughed a lot during that episode..for example when the Pretendo boss says: "why is the secretary still talking? she should be beaten with a stick!!"....

G4 was better 3 years ago. Code Monkeys is ok, but I prefer Boondocks, shin chan, and robot chicken.

For all you people that don't find this show funny, or at all for that matter, this is a 21+ show. This show is for people that remember using 5" floppies (before 3.5" floppies), the Apple IIe, the first line of Apples for that matter, using a computer with a black and white, green and black, or an orange and black display. Remember when DOS was the OS of choice, playing DOOM in DOS, and before there was the "Internet".

This show brings me back to those days, I remember in elementary school, using the Apple II (not the Apple IIe), and having to insert 1, maybe 2, 5" floppies to get a program running.

So, even if you are 21+, and still don't find this show funny, then you don't have a sense of humor, or just aren't a computer geek from the late 80s to early 90s. I have watched and seen the the evolution of G4 and TechTV. First, there was TechTV, then G4(they were 2 different channels running at the same time), then G4TechTV, then went only to G4. This is a computer geek/gamer show for people that are 21 years and over. If you are any younger, you won't get the jokes and most of the stuff they are saying. This isn't like Family guy, or Robot Chicken, and for the person that said they only like Boondocks on [adult swim], you must still be in your teens. This is one of my favorite cartoons, along side Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Metalocalypse, Squidbillies, and EVERY other show on [adult swim]. They should actually run this show on [adult swim], it's more than worthy and would get to the larger "audience" that can't afford digital cable of satellite.

5.25" not 5"

To whoever said Family Guy is a better show. Isn't Peter Griffin just a rip off of Homer Simpson? Dave and Jerry are not even close to being copies of Dante & Randall. The only thing close is the straight man and wild man thing which wasn't invented with Clerks. Dante & Randall are just supposed to be pathetic losers who aren't going anywhere. Dave & Jerry are actually supposed to be Gameavision's best programmers but one is always getting high and the other one is a wuss. The show is good but if you don't know much about what went on in the 80's then your probably not going to like it.

@von_karolinas

Thanks for correcting me, but, it's still a 5" floppy, just like a 3" floppy :) I know you are just being technical, and it's cool, I honestly forgot that is was a 5.25", it's been a while. I am not like most of the people on IMDB and can take constructive criticism.

Am only 23, but, was in the early 90s of computing, and, most of my childhood is filled with a 386/22 and 486/33, and actually had the GUI for DOS :) Incredible Machines, Wolfenstein 3D, Spear of Destiny, Doom, etc. And still one of my favorite all-time DOS games, Jill of the Jungle and Epic Pinball, many, many, many hours on these 2 games :D

WOLFENSTEIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen to that brother. Killing Hitler at it's finest. :D I feel sorry for kids today, they missed out one what games used to be about, low resolution sprites and textures, but, it's where the gameplay was, that made late 80s and early 90s games shine. To kids, and a lot of adults now, it's all about how pretty the graphics look. Most people will never know the joy of playing an FPS, and needing ALT to strafe, it did take skill, to be able to turn and strafe correctly when the action was getting rough.

Zork anyone? Now, this is a game that actually made your bran work and think, and use your imagination to it's fullest.

You seem to be a person that also knows about Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, the adventure games, not by iD :) Didn't know about it until sometime after Wolfenstein 3D, but, that is where Wolfenstein first started, for people that didn't know. Though, if you use your brain a little, Return to Castle Wolfenstein gives you an idea ;)

Zork was awesome. I love the old school Infocom games. And Sierra. I got my first computer in 86, grew up on the same 80's and 90's games. King's Quest, Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem, Bard's Tale, Wizardry. Nintendo, Sega, Atari, I even have an old Tandy 1, it plays cartridges from all the earlier 80s versions of Atari and similar systems. Zork was one of the best of the text based systems. I even maintain a pc running Dos just for those games, an emulator just doesn't have the same effect.

If you haven't seen it, there is a webcomic called 8 Bit theater that is classic, in my opinion.

[von - post turned in to almost giving you my entire computer history, haha, so bear with me]

God, now you are starting to show yours and my age, haha. I actually didn't even know what a TRS-80 was, till I looked it up, well, tried looking up Tandy 1, and came up with the TRS-80. I know you have some years on me now, quite a few. But, Zork, makes complete sense now, considering the platform it was made on.

And, Sierra, oh yes. Main titles I remember playing that were Sierra, were, The Incredible Machines, Nascar Racing, and the original Hoyle games. Know, there are a bunch more, but, these are pretty much what I had on the computers I had gotten, well, was the house computer. Mind you, I was, about 6 or 7 working with my first 386, from my uncle. Then moved to a 486/33, had 4MB of ram, but upgraded to 8, and a 20MB HDD, when my uncle upgraded to a 486/66, with a cartridge-loaded CD-ROM drive :)

I really wish I could remember what year it was, but, I will never forget the year at Christmas when my uncle had gotten the first Sound Blaster for the computer, well, mainly me. :) That was a huge leap for me, had already played Wolfenstein 3D and Doom with no sound. Then, when we upgraded from DOS, to Windows 3.1, he gave us a CD-ROM drive; and we are evolving in the computer world :) And, of course, eventually upgraded to Windows 95. And yes, when he had given us a joystick, I played some Wolfenstein and Doom with it (when we still didn't have a mouse), haha. Strafe key was binded to a button on the base.

And, oh god, yes, Duke Nukem, well, 3D for me. Didn't actually know of the original Duke Nukems some years later when I explorered the DN3D CD, and saw them on there, plus, Rise Of The Triad, which was only the shareware, and still to this day, haven't gotten to play the full version, but bet you have. There is, and still will be and itch for that game :) Duke Nukem 3D was the first time experiencing "lag" with a game, but, those were good times. I almost want to say 33Mhz was the minimum system requirements for the game.

Also, one last game that always sticks with me, that no one seems to remember, is, Redneck Rampage :) Never beat it, but, god damn, has to be the funniest FPS I have ever played. Writing about it, makes we want to track down a copy.

"Hold on to your butt!"

Oh, and we can't forget about the original Lemmings, :) That was a game that was on the 386 we had.

And, of course, Atari [ brother had one, he is 38 now, you are probably around there, i'm guessing :) ], NES, first console I owned was a SNES, then a PSX. Then moved on to Half-Life, and expansions, when my mom bought a new computer, ahhh, pre-Steam days :) Then, Max Payne, played the Demo on my PC Gamer Disc before it was out, and got it a couple days after release, and the rest of my PC and gamer days are history. Am a complete computer nerd, went to ITT for a year, and plan to go back, once I am in a little bit more stable place in my life.

After talking about this, I can't believe I got rid of my PC Gamer collection when I moved again, plus, PC Accelerator's. From about 97 to 03-04. Jut was too much of a pain to move, but now regret it.

Still have an old PC sitting, and, might break it out and make it either a 95 or 98 machine. Only windows versions that run TRUE DOS, besides actually running strait DOS, but, duh, haha. Well, and of course 3.1, and ME, but, god, don't even get me started on ME.

Thank you for bearing with me von, but, probably added to the trip down memory lane.

"Now, this is fun." - One of my favorite opening lines ;)

Also, have heard of 8 Bit theater, and almost want to say, I saw the site before Code Monkeys, but not fully sure. But, will definitely take another look soon, thanks.

The Tandy 1 was different from the TRS-80. It was Tandy's version of a console game system. had two paddle controls attached with coiled cables. My first actual pc was a Tandy 1000 EX. Yeah, showing my age (34). My EX still works, just need a new monitor.

That is one hell of a trip down memory lane. The early 90s was a good time for the computer and gaming world. If you want, I have links to a couple of sites where you can legally download the older games for free. NOTE, it is legal, the games are in the range that they are abandonware. As for Redneck Rampage that was classic. I just checked amazon and they have some cheap copies, I may buy one again myself.
